Rev. Anthony Scannell - Founding Member of CIMA
Father Tony Scannell, Capuchin, was one of the founding members of CIMA. He served as Pastoral Telecommunications Specialist for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 1996-2003 and as Executive Publisher of the Archdiocesan newspapers from 2004-2007. President of the Los Angeles-based Franciscan Communications until 1990, he has been President of both the national and international Catholic Association of Broadcasters and a member of the Vatican’s Pontifical Commission for Social Communications. He is still active in parish ministry, and offers “Soup and Cinema” during Advent and Lent in three L.A. parishes.
CIMA honored Father Tony with its very first Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.
